Soo boys aid Sudbury win

Nick Marson picked up his fifth victory of the season and fellow Sault Ste. Marie product Coulson Bell had an assist to help lift the youthful Sudbury U16 Nickel Capitals into second place in the Great North Under 18 Hockey League.

A 4-3 win over the North Bay U16 Trappers on Wednesday improved the U16 Nickel Capitals record to an impressive 8-3-1 and into a tie for second place with the veteran-laden Kapuskasing Flyers in the eight team Great North. Soo Jr. Greyhounds are in first place with a spotless 9-0-0 record.

Marson, with the win, boosted his record to 5-0-1 with a 2.63 goals against average in Great North action. As for Bell, the assist for the fibrous forward gives him four points in 10 games, including two goals, on the season. Both players have been notable performers for the U16 Nickel Capitals this season after being cut by their hometown Jr. Greyhounds and subsequently moving to Sudbury.
