Three Soo boys in Sudbury

They may not be playing at home in front of family and friends. But three Sault Ste. Marie youngsters have found a home away from home in Sudbury as first year players in the Great North Under 18 Hockey League.

Coulson Bell

Goalie A.J. Borrelli, who has a 2006 birth date, is tending twine for the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capitals. Meanwhile, goalie Nick Marson and forward Coulson Bell, who were both born in 2007, are playing for the Sudbury U16 Nickel Capitals.

Borrelli has a record of 1-4-0 with a 3.60 goals against average for the U18 Nickel Capitals, who have won only two of 11 games and are near the bottom of the standings in the eight team Great North.

As for the two Soo boys with the U16 Nickel Capitals, Marson has a record of 4-1-0 with a 2.55 goals against average while Bell has two goals, one assist, three points in nine games. The U16 Nickel Capitals are in second place in the Great North with a record of 7-3-1 and trail only the league leading Soo Jr. Greyhounds, who are unbeaten with a 9-0-0 mark.

Of note, both Sudbury and the North Bay Trappers ice under 16 and under 18 teams in the Great North while the Soo is represented by just its under 18 squad.
