Soo, NB for Great North glory
It will be the no. 1 seed Soo U18 Greyhounds going up against the second ranked North Bay U18 Trappers for the Great North Under 18 Hockey League championship.
Both teams advanced to the title tilt with resounding semi-final wins today at the league’s championship tournament.
Brendan Cooke and Gabe Palumbo netted two goals apiece as the host Greyhounds cuffed the Kapuskasing Flyers by a 7-1 margin. And North Bay punched its ticket into the championship game with a 7-2 triumph over the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capitals. Nate Gravelle paced the Trappers with a goal and three assists.
The championship game is set for Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at John Rhodes Community Centre.
