Sudbury U18 captains

They are back for another season with the Sudbury U18 Nickel Capital Wolves of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League. Not only that, forward Alek Duguay and defensemen Felix St. Onge will wear letters of leadership on their jerseys.

Brian Dickinson, who is the veteran head coach of the U18 Nickel Capital Wolves, confirmed to Hockey News North that Duguay will be Sudbury’s team captain for the 2023-2024 Great North U18HL season and that St. Onge will serve as an assistant captain. Both players have 2006 birth dates.

“Alek brings every quality that a coach and program asks for. He is dedicated, prepared, and ready for every assignment put in front of him. We look forward to having Alek lead our team forward,” Dickinson said of Duguay.

Duguay was a top scorer for the U18 Nickel Capital Wolves over the course of the 2022-2023 campaign with nine goals, 15 assists, 24 points in 32 games, regular season and playoffs included.

As for St. Onge, Dickinson relayed to Hockey News North that the returning defenseman “is a consummate teammate who always plays the game team first. He leads by example and is always there for his teammates. We as a program look forward to watching Felix grow.”

St. Onge tallied one goal, 12 assists, 13 points in 32 games from his blue line post for the U18 Nickel Capital Wolves in ’22-23.
