It is progress. Not great progress, perhaps. But positive progress, nonetheless. That is, the Timmins Majors of the Great North Midget Hockey League have now matched their victory total of last season.

A resounding 8-1 win by Timmins over the visiting Sudbury Minor Wolves on the weekend boosted the Majors record to 10-10-3 through 23 games of the 2019-2020 Great North schedule. Timmins had a record of 10-25-1 in 36 regular season games in 2018-2019.

Defenseman Mason Berthiaume was a huge difference maker in the 8-1 victory over Sudbury, scoring four goals as Timmins reached the .500 mark.
