They left town and made a good impression. Timmins Majors managed a hard fought, well-earned point from a pair of Great North Under 18 Hockey League road tilts against the Soo Jr. Greyhounds.

After dropping the opener by a narrow 4-2 margin, Timmins gained a point from a 2-1 shootout setback to close out the weekend visit to the Soo.

Thus, as the Jr. Greyhounds now have a record of 6-1-0 from seven games to begin the 2021-2022 Great North regular season, rookie coach Kevin Walker and the Majors are 0-2-2 through four outings.

Long time Timmins general manager Ron Holmes liked the performance that was put forth by the hard working Majors.

“The boys showed a lot of heart,” Holmes relayed to Hockey News North. “We were right there. Loved the effort!”
