Timmins takes two from trip

Three road games in a three day span yielded two victories for the Timmins Majors in Great North Midget Hockey League play from this weekend.

The Majors began the tough trek with a 7-1 win over the win-less Sudbury Minor Wolves before splitting a two-game set with the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves, losing 4-0 before heading home following a 4-2 triumph.

Sudbury area product Evan Nicholls picked up the win in the Timmins net in today’s 4-2 tilt.

After starting the season with an 0-4-2 record over their first six outings, coach Brandon Perry’s Majors have since produced a 6-3-0 mark to improve to 6-7-2 on the season. The Nickel Capital Wolves now have a record of 8-4-1.

The fifth-place Majors and the third-seeded Nickel Capital Wolves have defeated each other twice thus far this season.
