Trappers to the Rapids
Pint size forward Jesse Lefebvre is moving up from the Great North Under 18 Hockey League champion North Bay Trappers to the French River Rapids of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.
The 5-foot-8, 150 pound Lefebvre, who has a 2006 birth date, played two seasons at the Great North U18HL level for North Bay and, playoffs included, rang up 35 goals, 38 assists, 73 points in 59 games.
French River president and head coach Paul Frustaglio is extremely high on Lefebvre, who hails from the nearby town of Sturgeon Falls.
“I am very excited to have Jesse join our team,” Frustaglio relayed to Hockey News North. “He is a dynamic player. We expect big things from this gifted player and hope he can help us back to the playoffs again this coming season.”
Though Lefebvre is small, Frustaglio noted the physical ability of the youngster.
“Yes, he is undersized … but he is very good and he hits like a truck … I think he will amaze people,” Frustaglio gushed.
