U18 Hounds have harmony
Soo Jr. Greyhounds head coach Jamie Henderson has noted the consistency and collectiveness of a squad that leads the Great North Under 18 Hockey League with a record of 7-0-0 while outscoring the opposition by a resounding 43-6 margin.
“If you look at our statistics it’s been a real balanced attack thus far. From our netminders, to our back end and up front, these guys are buying in and working hard at practice during the week which is resulting in some weekend success so far,” Henderson told Hockey News North.
To be sure, the scoring symmetry of the U18 Jr. Hounds stands out via the number of players who are averaging at least one point per game.
Hudson Chitraroni leads the Soo crew with 12 points followed by Jacob Smith with 11, Gabe Palumbo and Cole Cond both with nine, Deven Jones-McDonald and Candon O’Neill each with eight, and Brendan Cooke, Lucas DiBerardino, Callum McAuley and Declan Gallivan all with seven.
And between the pipes, goalies Maverick Fletcher and Nathan Maguire have combined to allow less than an average of one goal per game.
