Having played just two regular season games thus far in the 2021-2022 campaign, the Timmins Majors are on the road this weekend for a pair of Great North Under 18 Hockey League contests with the Soo Jr. Greyhounds.

The two tilts are slated for Saturday afternoon at 1:00 and Sunday morning at 11:00 at John Rhodes Community Center. Timmins has a record of 0-1-1 on the league season while the Soo has 4-1-0 mark in five outings.

Veteran Jr. Greyhounds head coach Jamie Henderson is ready for what first year bench boss Kevin Walker and the visiting Majors will bring to town.

“We know Timmins will come in and compete and we’re expecting two tough games,” Henderson told Hockey News North. “As for us, we have a good idea where we stand as a team after the Big Nickel tournament (from last weekend) and there is another level we need to find as a team.”

Timmins is a mix of players born in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 with a number of local products including captain Bradley Moore, who is a right hand shooting forward.
