Hard-working, hard-skating centre Chase Matson has parlayed a two-year North American Hockey League career into a commitment to play for the Adrian College Bulldogs, one of the top Division 3 National Collegiate Athletic Association programs in the United States.

Matson was pursued by a number of D3, NCAA programs before opting for Adrian, which is located about 90 miles southwest of Detroit.

A compactly-built, 5-foot-10, 180 pound, 1994 birth-year pivot who hails from the Detroit area, Matson was a leader on and off the ice during his two full NAHL seasons with the Soo Eagles.

In 119 games spanning the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 campaigns, Matson produced 22 goals, 28 assists, 50 points.

Matson has a fan in the man who coached him the past two seasons, Bruno Bragagnolo.

“We are happy and proud for Chase as he will be heading to play at a great hockey school such as Adrian,” Bragagnolo told HockeyNewsNorth.com.

“Adrian is not only getting a great player but a great leader with superb character and a person who exemplifies what our organization stands for,” added Bragagnolo. “We are proud to add Chase Matson to our list of alumni who have moved on to the NCAA ranks.”
