High-scoring senior forward Diego Cuglietta is moving on from the Lake Superior State Lakers of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

The Canadian-born Cuglietta totaled 50 goals, 50 assists, 100 points in 147 games over four seasons at Lake Superior State.

His pro contract with the AHL Stars is for the balance of the 2018-2019 season. The AHL Stars are the top farm club of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League.

Cuglietta was a key cog on a Lakers team that made it into the second round of a recently-concluded, WCHA playoff series. He made the WCHA first all-star team for his play in addition to being an all-academic member.
