Laker signs with Red Wings

Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League have signed forward Colin Campbell to a two-way, entry-level contract.

Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said the 6-foot-1, 205 pound Campbell will spend the rest of the 2013-2014 season with Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

Grand Rapids is Detroit’s top farm club.

The 22-year old Campbell had 14 goals, 15 assists, 29 points in 36 games this season as a senior with the Lake Superior State Lakers of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
