Is Damon Whitten new Laker coach?

Lake Superior State University Lakers of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association will hold a press conference tomorrow at noon to announce the hiring of their new head coach.

More than one source is saying the Lakers have offered the job to Damon Whitten, who has been an assistant coach with the Michigan Tech Huskies the past four seasons.

At any rate, Saturday’s press conference will be held at the Walker Cisler Center’s Huron Room, which is on the campus of LSSU.

  2. They appeared to do a very thorough search and came back with a solid list of candidates for the job. I know and have dealt with some of these gentlemen in hockey and with off-ice events and found them to be honest and quality people. Whomever gets the job from that list of candidates will do a great job and will need the total support from the fan base in order to return the Lakers to the high standard of hockey once again. Support the choice.

    1. They need to clean house.

      AD Dunbar has to go.
      Tom Coates has to go.
      Tim Christian has to go.

      Lakers have to start from scratch with the Athletic department.
