Soo Indians to LSSU Lakers

Homegrown forward Ashton Calder, who played the past two seasons with the major midget Soo Indians, has made a future commitment to skate for the Lake Superior State University Lakers of the Division 1, Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Both Indians coach Pat Carricato and Lakers coach Damon Whitten confirmed Calder’s commitment to HockeyNewsNorth.com.

A 6-foot-1, 200 pound power forward, Calder had 27 goals, 30 assists, 57 points for the Indians during the 2014-2015 season.

Calder is expected to move up from the major midget Indians to junior hockey for the 2015-2016 campaign.
