Soo Thunderbirds won their 25th successive game on Friday, a 3-1 road decision over the Espanola Rivermen.
Nic Tassone, Joey Miller and Eric Hillock handled the scoring for the Soo in support of the 26-save effort of Joel Horodziejczyk.
The win improves the Soo’s record atop the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League standings to 43-4-2, good for 88 points.
The Thunderbirds are home to the second-place Kirkland Lake Gold Miners on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Essar Centre.
