Well, that didn’t take very long. Suiting up in his first game as an affiliate player for the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League led to a goal by up and coming youngster Wyatt Jarratt.

The 6 foot 1, 180 pound forward with a 2009 birth date netted a second period power play marker that factored in an 8-2 win by Blind River over the visiting French River Rapids in a recent NOJHL match.

Notably, Jarratt is second in scoring for the Soo Under 16 Jr. Greyhounds of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League with seven goals, seven assists, 14 points in 14 regular season games to date.

Hailing from the remote Highway 129 town of Wharncliffe — which is about 12 miles northeast of Thessalon and 65 miles from Sault Ste. Marie — the hard working Jarratt is a prospect for the 2025 Ontario Hockey League priority selections draft.
