Alek Duguay to EL Vikings
He is a journeyman forward who is poised to suit up for his fourth team in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League come the looming ’26-27 regular season.
Sudbury native Alek Duguay has signed with the Elliot Lake Vikings after spending the ’25-26 season with the NOJHL champion — and since disbanded — Sudbury Cubs.
In all, the 5 foot 9, 165 pound forward with a 2006 birth date has skated in 90 NOJHL games with Sudbury, the Espanola Paper Kings and Powassan Voodoos,scoring seven goals, 11 assists, 18 points along the way.
In confirming the signing of Duguay, Elliot Lake president Jef Jarmovitch noted that “we are fortunate to add a proven veteran who knows exactly what it takes to be part of a successful program. Alek brings experience, leadership, and a relentless compete level to our lineup. He understands the commitment and consistency required to succeed on a daily basis, and his presence will be invaluable in helping set the standard for our younger players. Players with championship experience elevate those around them, and we’re excited about the impact Alek will have both on and off the ice.”
