The expansion Espanola Express of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League has signed four American-born players, general manager Chad Clarke has confirmed.

Heading the list of signings is Las Vegas product Daniel Nicholas, a 6-foot, 200-pound, 1995 birth-year defenceman who played for the erstwhile Espanola Rivermen of the now-defunct Canadian International Hockey League in 2014-2015.

Clarke has also confirmed that goalie Aaron Callan and forwards Aaron Roschinsky and Ian Thompson have inked pacts with the all-new Express.

Callan and Roschinsky both played for the Toledo Cherokee of the North American 3 Hockey League last season while Thompson is a Michigan high school product.

What you think about “American Express to Espanola”

  1. I also believe Ian Thompson is the younger brother of former Kirkland Lake Gold Miner Everett Thompson (either brother or cousin I’m sure of it..haha), so he comes from good bloodlines. 4 of the 6 Americans they can carry already signed. Apparently the next two will be inked at the official Express tryout camp later this month. Glad to hear some signings already.
