NOJHLer off to Adrian College

Forward Austin Rust has parlayed a high-scoring season with Kirkland Gold Miners of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League into a commitment to play at the Division 3, National Collegiate Athletic Association level with Adrian College Bulldogs.

A 1993 birth-year skater, Rust had 35 goals, 30 assists, 65 points in 56 regular-season games with Kirkland Lake and then added 7 goals, 7 assists, 14 points in 14 playoffs games for the eventual NOJHL champions.

Considered to be one of the top Division 3 programs at the NCAA level, Adrian is coached by Ron Fogarty.

Fogarty has coached Adrian in each of its seven seasons in the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association and posted a sensational record of 168-23-9.

  1. It looks like Mayor of EL and Serpent River Chief are going to meet next week and that there will be NOJHL Hockey in Elliot Lake for next season!
