He has a passion for hockey and a good reputation as a community volunteer.

Jamie Henderson, who has been part of multiple championships as an assistant coach with the St. Mary’s Knights high schoolers and Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, is back in the game after two years on the sidelines.

Henderson has re-joined the Thunderbirds as assistant general manager under hockey boss Kevin Cain.

Known for his attention to detail and organizational skills as a hockey assistant, Henderson is held in high regard by both Cain and Thunderbirds owner Albert Giommi.

From his end, Henderson is happy to be back in hockey.

“I share a passion with Albert and Kevin,” said Henderson, who was a part of the Thunderbirds NOJHL and Dudley-Hewitt Cup title team of 2011-2012. “We had some good times and to come back to learn a different side of hockey in the management end is a great opportunity.”

As assistant GM, Henderson will be responsible for player registry, player promotion and community relations.
