Blind River Beavers are moving on to the finals of the West Division of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League. Before a packed house of more than 550 fans at the Blind River Community Centre, the top seed Beavers capped a frantic series comeback over the fourth ranked Espanola Paper Kings today in the seventh and deciding game.

Today’s 5-1 win for the Beavers was their third straight to close out the series over the upstart Paper Kings, who at one point held a three games to one lead. But Blind River stared adversity straight in the eyes and rallied with a series comeback win for the ages over its rivals from nearby Espanola.

In today’s victory march, Jesse Dupuis scored twice and Daniel Vasic, Jake Kovacs and Wyatt Gibson netted solo markers for Blind River in support of goalie Noah Tegelaar. Lucas Signoretti replied for Espanola.

With the seventh Heaven series triumph, Blind River advances to the West Division finals against the Sudbury Cubs, who previously ousted the Soo Thunderbirds four games to two.
