After originally committing to the Soo Eagles, Nick Jameus has instead signed with the Blind River Beavers.

A 2002 birth year forward, Jameus spent his rookie, 2019-2020 season in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League with the Elliot Lake Wildcats.

Elliot Lake has taken a leave of absence from the NOJHL for the 2020-2021 season.

Blind River coach and general manager Kyle Brick commented on the addition of Jameus to the Beaver dam.

“We are excited to have Nick join our team as we feel he adds great skill and depth down the middle,” Brick told Hockey News North.

“We believe that with good players at his side, he will be able to produce game in game out at this level,” Brick added.

The 5-foot-7, 150 pound Jameus finished fourth in scoring on the Elliot Lake points chart last season. He totaled six goals, nine assists, 15 points in 51 games on a Wildcats team that finished in last place in the NOJHL with a record of 7-46-3.

Prior to his NOJHL rookie year, Jameus played two seasons in the Great North Midget Hockey League, suiting up for both the Soo Jr. Greyhounds and Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves.
