Birds are still chirping
Top seed Soo Thunderbirds have remained in contention for the 2022 Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League championship.
The Thunderbirds scored a clutch 4-2 road decision over the Hearst Lumberjacks on Friday to extend the NOJHL title series to at least a fifth game.
Hearst, which missed a chance to sweep the series on home ice, now leads the best of seven set three games to one. The Lumberjacks had taken a 3-0 series lead on Thursday with a 5-4, home ice, overtime victory.
Game 4 in the series is slated for Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie.
