Birds, Beavers are even
Soo Thunderbirds have evened their first-round, best-of-seven, Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League playoff series with Blind River Beavers.
But it wasn’t easy.
The top-seeded Thunderbirds withstood two late third-period goals from the eighth-ranked Beavers for a narrow 3-2 triumph.
The score flattered the home-ice Beavers who were outshot by a 50-19 margin.
The best-of-seven series is now tied at 1-1 heading into Game 3 on Thursday night at the Soo’s Essar Centre.
BEAVERS- be proud of your selves
Blind River Beavers be PROUD of yourselves for
your game efforts yesterday.
You gave the fans the game they deserved to watch
Yesterday you didn’t win the game,
but you sure as hell had the T-Birds in a flutter
if the clock hadn’t run down I am sure you
would have tied the game and maybe won it
You all played an excellent game
I am so proud of everyone of you for your efforts
and not falling into the T-Birds way of hockey.
Good luck Thursday.
We will be there to cheer you on.
