Veteran forward Nathan Hans has asked the Blind River Beavers to trade him, HockeyNewsNorth.com has learned.

“He has requested a trade and I am going to try and accommodate his request,” Beavers coach-general manager Brad Barton told HockeyNewsNorth.com. “We are looking to get younger and it is a win-win for all involved.”

Hans, who has a 1996 birth date, was named Beavers captain by Barton prior to the start of the 2015-2016 Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League season. He is tied for the Blind River scoring lead with 10 points, 3 of which are goals.

Blind River takes a record of 3-16-1 into play this week.

What you think about “Blind River captain requests trade”

  1. theres an old hockey saying that goes something like this: “If you don’t want to be here then we don’t want you”.

  2. With the team record standing at 3-16-1, I think he has every right to ask for a move
The Beavers are headed down last years path and that translates in people not
coming out for their games = less money taken in at the door.

  3. Beavers best players are the young uns such as the Khull boys, Uhl, Campbell etc. They mite as well build around these kids.

  4. Glad he’s gone, wasn’t playing like last year. I think the C should never have been given to him. Things are turning out like last year and they had a much better start player number wise then last year. Full bench, better president, unfortunately on ice is looking to be heading in the same direction. Hopefully beavers don’t need make a coaching change. Soon.

  5. There is support for the Beavers in Town ; the fans want to see more Wins tho at least the effort has been there most a the time.

  6. it is sad that the team leader has asked for a trade but no use in keeping him there if he isn’t happy. the team is going down the same path as last year, even with some new blood on the team. I watched one game vs t birds & noticed uhl was a healthy scratch for that game. didn’t make sense…I think khull and Campbell look very good out there but 2 cant carry the team game after game..

  7. I don’t think you can lay any fault towards Hans for requesting a trade. The kid stuck it out all last year during that disastrous season. He has limited time left in Jr. Hockey.
