Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have elected their board of directors for the 2016-2017 season.

At the not-for-profit team’s recent annual general meeting, Robert Morningstar was voted in as president of the Beavers.

Four others will sit on the board for the Beavers — general manager Dennis Lawrence, administrator Nathalie Dubois, treasurer Pam Trowbridge and secretary Linda Makela.

Morningstar, as the new president, told HockeyNewsNorth.com that the new board features “individuals with various levels of hockey and business experience. We look forward to the upcoming season with our new coach Kyle Brick.”

The Beavers missed the playoffs in 2015-2016 and finished 11th overall in the 12-team NOJHL.

Following the conclusion of the ’15-16 campaign, the Beavers released Brad Barton as coach-general manager and replaced him with the aforementioned Brick as bench boss and Lawrence as GM.
