Felix “Freddy” Cadieux-Fredette has already played in more than 140 career games as a steady, ever ready defenseman for the Timmins Rock of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.

And as Cadieux-Fredette has already committed to playing his final season of junior with the reigning NOJHL champions of Timmins in 2023-2024, his coach has named him the new captain of the Rock.

“With Freddy, he is the definition of consistency,” Rock head coach and general manager Brandon Perry relayed to Hockey News North. “There is no better active stick defender in our league in my opinion. He is a fierce competitor and his loyalty to our program has been unmatched. We are excited to see how he moulds our dressing room as the next captain and excited for him to finish his fourth and final season where it all began — in a Rock jersey.”

Cadieux-Fredette, besides his defensive prowess, also contributed offensively for Timmins over the course of the 2022-2023 season. He came through with eight goals, 23 assists, 31 points in 51 regular season games before being even more productive in the playoffs with two goals, 13 assists, 15 points in 15 matches.
