Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League are looking for a new coach and general manager, HockeyNewsNorth.com has confirmed.

Though not officially announced by the team, Blind River has parted ways with coach-general manager Brad Barton, who confirmed his release from the Beavers via a social media post.

Barton recently completed his first season with the Beavers, who missed the West Division playoffs and finished in 11th place overall in the 12-team NOJHL.

What you think about “Coaching change in Blind River”

  1. That’s too bad. It can’t be easy to recruit to a team that had no wins the previous season. Beavers also had one of the youngest rosters (behind only French River) in the NOJHL and one of the toughest schedules (behind Eskis and Soo, MI) due to the unbalanced scheduling. Seems to me they were moving in the right direction.

  2. They (Blind River staff) seemed to really invest themselves this season. This news is kind of a shame actually. I hope they find a plausible coach / gm soon.

  3. Coach/GM gone-YES, way to go.
Now to start over after a trying season.
Need a good GM and coach who are willing to dedicate themselves to this team and make it productive.
    Go Beavers Go
