Cubs and Walleye win

Sudbury Cubs and Kam River Fighting Walleye both skated to victory as semi-final playoff sets in both the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League and Superior International Jr. Hockey League continued on Monday.

NOJHL

Sudbury 5, Soo 2. Pierson Sobush netted a goal and added three assists, Billy Biedermann tallied twice and Noah Metivier made 27 saves as the visiting Cubs scored four unanswered goals on the Thunderbirds. The Soo still leads the series two games to one.

SIJHL

Kam River 4, Wisconsin 2. Playing at home in front of more than 700 fans at Norwest Arena, defenseman Jack Cook clicked for a pair of goals, Ethan Lang scored once and set up another and Eric Vanska made 29 saves to spark the Fighting Walleye. Sal Poggiali potted a goal and an assist and Kyle Lowden made 35 saves for the Lumberjacks.
