Cubs on comeback trail
The Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League championship series is now tied at a game apiece. Sudbury Cubs evened the best of seven set with a frantic 5-4 overtime decision over the visiting Hearst Lumberjacks.

Trailing 4-3 in the final minute of the third period, Sudbury forward Cameron Shanks scored on the power play to tie the game and send it to OT. Then, four and a half minutes into the extra frame, speedster Nolan Newton won it for the Cubs to send a partisan crowd of more than 900 home happy.
Sudbury outshot Hearst by a 55-35 margin with Alex Boivin turning in a spectacular effort in defeat. The series now shifts to Hearst for Games 3 and 4 next week.
Hearst had taken the opening game of the series with a 6-2 road win.
Nice to see Hearst can give this stacked team a run for the money.
