Cubs romp over the Rock
Make that 10 straight victories for the Sudbury Cubs. The Cubs retained their spot atop the standings of the 12 team Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League on Thursday with a convincing 5-1 win over the visiting Timmins Rock.

Sudbury now has 24 points from a record 11-1-2 while Timmins remains in third place. The Rock has 16 points from a record of 8-3-0.
Scoring machine Lucas Signoretti had a goal and an assist for the Cubs to remain atop the league points parade with 22 in 14 games. Signoretti also leads the NOJHL in goals with 13. Formerly of the Espanola Paper Kings, Signoretti now has 99 goals in 104 NOJHL regular season games.
The win was the 100th for Cubs head coach Darryl Moxam, who took over behind the Sudbury bench prior to the start of the ’22-23 NOJHL season.
