D1 deal for CC goalie
Cochrane Crunch goalie Marcus Ouellet has secured a Division 1, National Collegiate Athletic Association commitment to play for the American International College Yellow Jackets.
The 18-year old Ouellet, who is in his rookie season in the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League with Cochrane, has withstood a barrage of shots with the Crunch, which has a record of 6-27-3.
The 6-foot-1, 190 pound Ouellet has faced a whopping 773 shots in 882 minutes of action. He has a record of 3-11-1 with a .913 save percentage and 4.56 goals against average.
His stellar work in the Cochrane net caught the attention of the AIC recruiters. Located in Springfield, Mass., AIC plays out of the 10-school Atlantic Hockey Conference. AIC is currently in second place in the AHC standings.
