Local product David Campbell is on his way to the Wellington Dukes of the Ontario Jr. Hockey League via the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League and the North Bay Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League.
The 19-year old left winger, who has prior OHL experience of 27 games with North Bay, fell victim to a numbers game of younger players and was recently released by the Battalion.
Blind River, which held Campbell’s NOJHL rights, then dealt the hard-working port sider to Wellington for 18-year old forward Hayden Webster.
Prior to moving up to North Bay and the OHL, Campbell played in 79 NOJHL regular season games, starring for both Blind River and the Powassan Voodoos. In total, the 6-foot-1, 175 pound Campbell produced 31 goals, 41 assists, 72 points.
