Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League soared back from a two-goal third period deficit to defeat the Kam River Fighting Walleye of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League 3-2 in inter league exhibition play on Friday at NorWest Arena in Thunder Bay.

A late man advantage effort 7:47 into the contest saw Kam River open the scoring courtesy of veteran forward Trenton Morriseau.

Second period action saw the Eagles hold a 17-12 edge in shots on goal but neither club saw was able to convert offensively.

The Fighting Walleye did add to its lead four minutes into the third as it connected on the power play once more, with Braeden Duchesne putting one past Eagles netminder Logan Raffaele.

Finding their skating legs after a long travel day, Jack Paweski put the Eagles on the board midway through the third when he clicked on the power play.

Not done there, the Eagles drew level a couple of shifts later thanks to veteran forward Chase Tallaire.

The Eagles then completed the comeback with 90 seconds left in the game on a goal by Jack Mortson.

The two sides meet again tonight in a 7 p.m. start at NorWest Arena.
