After a splendid season of playing junior hockey in northern Ontario, Cole Hepler is returning to his home state to begin his National Collegiate Athletic Association, Division 3 career.

Hepler, a 1995 birth year forward who netted 45 goals, 47 assists, 92 points in 56 games (regular season and playoffs included) for the Elliot Lake Wildcats of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League in 2015-2016, has committed to Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania effective the 2016-2017 campaign.

“Cole will be missed in our line up next season,” Elliot Lake general manager Todd Stencill told HockeyNewsNorth.com. “There are not a lot of players out there that have the ability to finish around the net like he does.”

Lebanon Valley coach Don Parsons knows the type of player the Dutchmen are getting in the 5-foot-9, 170-pound Hepler.

“Cole will be a tremendous 200-foot player for us and will impact our team immediately as both an offensive and defensive forward,” Parsons said of Hepler.

  1. He and MacLean will surely be missed next year! Two of the better players in the league IMO.
Both great leaders and great kids. Goodluck in the future boys!
