EPK nabs big Brinn Burleigh
Espanola Paper Kings of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League finalized their blue line brigade at the Canadian Jr. Hockey League trade deadline in a big way.
The Paper Kings added 6-foot-3, 220 pound defenseman Brinn Burleigh from the Caledon Bombers of the Greater Ontario Jr. Hockey League in a cash deal.
“Brinn gives us another big bodied d-man,” Espanola general manager Marc Gagnon told Hockey News North. “This sets us up for the stretch run of the season.”
With the addition of the 18-year old Burleigh, six of the Paper Kings seven defenseman are six feet tall or more.
Espanola takes a record of 16-14-4 into weekend action. The Paper Kings are in a furious chase with the Soo Eagles for fourth place in the NOJHL’s West Division.
