Fighting Walleye to the Eagles
Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have acquired a good size goalie in a trade with the Kam River Fighting Walleye of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League.
On his way from the Fighting Walleye to the Eagles is 20-year old net minder Jack Orchard.
The 6 foot, 200 pound Orchard had impressive stats as the backup goalie for the SIJHL regular season and playoff champions from Kam River in 2022-2023. Hailing from northwestern Ontario, Orchard had a record of 11-5-0 with a 2.34 goals against average and .909 save percentage for the Fighting Walleye as an SIJHL rookie in ’22-23.
