Five Eagles off to school

Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League continue to be a program that consistently moves players to the collegiate level of school and the game.

Two goalies and three defensemen from the 2021-2022 edition of the Eagles have secured Division 3, National Collegiate Athletic Association or Division 1, American Collegiate Hockey Association commitments for the 2022-2023 season, Hockey News North has confirmed.

They are goalies Ryan Gilmore (Grand Valley State University, ACHA ) and Gabe Rosek (Concordia University, NCAA) and defenders Dylan Bachalo (Adrian College, ACHA), Hayden Daca (Northland College, NCAA) and Sam Holy (Northland College, NCAA.)

Since being established as a junior A franchise in 2008, the Michigan-based Eagles have sent more than 150 of their players to school.

Eagles president and general manager Bruno Bragagnolo commented on the recent commitments of the five above mentioned players to the college hockey ranks.

“The Soo Eagles organization and staff would like to congratulate these players for their hard work and determination to make it the next level in their career. We are proud of them and wish them a great college hockey career. These schools are not only getting very good players but also great individuals with character,” Bragagnolo relayed to Hockey News North.

  1. Congrats to the players and the management for always promoting their players. Doug trains them and Bruno promotes them. A great combination.
