They have been close more than once but the French River Rapids are still seeking their first win as a Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League expansion team.

The Rapids will try to win that elusive first game again tonight when they play host to the Iroquois Falls Eskis in a match slated to begin at 7:30 at Noelville Arena.

French River takes a record of 0-8 into the game while Iroquois Falls has a mark of 3-7.

Of French River’s eight losses to date, two have been by one goal and another has been a two-goal setback.

What you think about “French River seeks first win”

  1. They have actually outshot their opponents in the first period of most of their games so far but still end up down a couple of goals after the first. Goaltending lets them down early and they can’t recover, 34 is decent but too small, 30 should be in house league and 29 disappeared. A couple of key acquisitions could help them to a 12 win season.
