Hat tricks for Paper Kings

A pair of small size forwards had big game performances as the Espanola Paper Kings strengthened their hold on the fourth and final playoff spot in the West Division of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League. Lucas Signoretti and Devin Mauro both hit for the hat trick as the Paper Kings clipped the French River Rapids by a 9-4 score.

The 5-foot-6 Signoretti now has 35 goals, 32 assists, 67 points in 33 games since joining Espanola from the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. And the 5-foot-9 Mauro has six goals, nine assists, 15 points in just six games since being assigned to Espanola from the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves.

With 10 games to play in the regular season, the Paper Kings have a record of 24-20-4 and a five point lead on the Soo Eagles for fourth place in the NOJHL West. The Eagles do have a game in hand on the Paper Kings.
