Hearst over Kam River
Hearst Lumberjacks of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League edged the host Kam River Fighting Walleye of the Superior International Jr. Hockey League today to skate away with the 2023 Telco Cup title.
Hearst upended Kam River by a 5-2 score to take the three game series 2-1. Kam River won the first game of the Labour Day weekend series only to have Hearst win the next two.
Kam River is the reigning champions of the SIJHL while Hearst is a perennial force within the ranks of the NOJHL.
