Soo Thunderbirds and Timmins Rock have both advanced to their respective Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League divisional finals.
The Thunderbirds swept the Blind River Beavers in a West Division semi-final and the Rock took the broom to the French River Rapids on the East side.
Michael Chaffay, with three goals, three assists, six points led the Soo past Blind River while Thunderbird goalies Noah Zeppa and Noah Metivier posted two wins apiece.
Harry Clark had a goal and five assists to spark Timmins past French River. Gavin McCarthy was in net for all four Rock victories.
