It’s not Miller time
Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League figure to be without high-scoring forward Anthony Miller for about two more weeks, according to general manager Kevin Cain.
Cain, appearing on the Hockey North Show that I host on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. on ESPN 1400 Radio, confirmed that Miller is still recovering from a lower-body injury that he sustained during a pre-season match with the Soo Eagles of the North American Hockey League.
“We’re probably looking at two more weeks before Anthony is ready to go,” Cain said of the 1994 birth-year skater.
Playoffs included, Miller scored 35 goals for the Thunderbirds in 2013-2014.
The Thunderbirds, with a record of 1-0, will play their second game of the 2014-2015 NOJHL campaign on Friday night when they entertain the Powassan Voodoos in a 7:30 p.m. match at John Rhodes Community Centre.
