Kirkland Lake to Hearst
Hearst Lumberjacks have added a solid, seasoned skater to their lineup by way of a cash transaction with their Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League rival Kirkland Lake Gold Miners.
Alex McDonald, a 6 foot, 180 pound forward with a 2004 birth date, played in 106 games with Kirkland Lake over the past two seasons. Playing on a lowly Gold Miners team that won only 19 games the past two years, McDonald managed 19 goals, 35 assists, 54 points.
Hailing from the small northeastern Ontario town of Englehart, McDonald skated for the New Liskeard Cubs of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League before moving up to the NOJHL.
