Local lads are for the Birds
Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League have signed a pair of Ontario Hockey League draft picks who played for the Soo Jr. Greyhounds of the Great North Under 18 Hockey League in 2022-2023.
They are 2007 birth year defensemen Declan Gallivan and Candon O’Neill.
Gallivan was picked by the North Bay Battalion in the seventh round of the 2023 OHL priority selections draft while O’Neill went in the 12th round to the Saginaw Spirit.
