Lumberjacks sweep Voodoos
The red-hot Hearst Lumberjacks have clicked their ticket into the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League championship series.
The no. 1 seed Lumberjacks completed a four-game sweep of the East Division finals on Thursday with a 3-1 road victory over the no. 3 seed Powassan Voodoos.
The win was the seventh straight playoff triumph for Hearst, which previously overcame a three games to one deficit in the semi-finals to upend the Timmins Rock.
Hearst will meet the winner of the Soo Thunderbirds/Rayside Balfour Canadians series for the NOJHL title. The Thunderbirds lead the best-of-seven, West Division final three games to one.
