Majors to Paper Kings
Hulking defenseman Brayden Westberry has signed with the Espanola Paper Kings of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, Hockey News North has confirmed. Westberry skated for the Great North Under 18 Hockey League champion Timmins Majors in ’23-24.
Paper Kings general manager Marc Gagnon relayed that the 6 foot 4, 185 pound Westberry is a “big strong d-man who skates well. We are looking forward to seeing him defend our zone.”
In 27 games with the Majors of Timmins in ’23-24, Westberry produced one goal, five assists, six points and rang up 50 minutes in penalties.
Westberry, who has a 2006 birth date, is the eighth player who has skated in the GNU18HL to sign with Espanola ahead of the ’24-25 season.
