Net addition for Beavers
A puck-stopping duo is now in place for the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League.
Hockey News North has confirmed that the Beavers have added a veteran goalie from the Central Canada Hockey League.
The goalie in question is David O’Keefe, who has been obtained by Blind River from the Hawkesbury Hawks of the CCHL in a cash exchange.
O’Keefe has a 2002 birth date and will join 2003 birth year holdover Gavin Disano in the Beavers net.
“O’Keefe is a goalie with good size and we expect him to come in and compete with Disano for the no. 1 job,” Beavers general manager and coach Kyle Brick told Hockey News North. “This gives us a good 1-2 tandem.”
As a rookie, Disano emerged as the Beavers starting goalie over the 21 games that Blind River played during the abbreviated 2020-2021 NOJHL season.
