Holdover net minder Gavin Disano will now be part of a three goalie system for the Blind River Beavers to at least begin the 2021-2022 Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League season.

That is the word from Beavers general manager and coach Kyle Brick.

Disano, a 2003 birth year youngster from Sault Ste. Marie, proved himself as a reliable, workhorse rookie goalie for Blind River during the abbreviated 2020-2021 NOJHL season.

And while Brick is happy to have Disano returning to the Beavers net, two newcomers will also be competing for playing time between the pipes.

They are Jerami Delaquis from Quispamsis, New Brunswick and Brockville, Ontario product Phillipe MacNab. Delaquis was born in 2002 and MacNab has a 2003 birth date.

“We are gonna run three,” Brick told Hockey News North. “Our schedule is brutal and demanding.”

Brick also confirmed that 2002 birth year goalie David O’Keefe, who was acquired by the Beavers via the Central Canada Hockey League earlier this summer, has changed his mind and decided not to report to Blind River.
